Scholars of the South Tigris

Scholars of the South Tigris is the second standalone game in the South Tigris trilogy, set during the height of the Abbasid Caliphate around 830 AD. The Caliph calls upon the brightest scholars to acquire scientific manuscripts from across the known world. Players must increase their influence within the House of Wisdom and recruit skilled linguists to translate foreign scrolls into Arabic. In this Golden Age of knowledge and learning, maintaining the right balance between the different aspects of the game is essential.

The game combines mechanics such as bag building, dice placement, color mixing, and worker-based mitigation, creating a distinctive strategic experience. Every round presents meaningful decisions as players develop their engine and shape their long-term strategy. Six unique research tracks, along with a wide variety of scrolls and translators, provide excellent replayability. The shared pool of scrolls and translators also creates positive player interaction and competitive tension throughout the game.

In addition, Scholars of the South Tigris includes an intuitive and easy-to-manage solo mode with four difficulty levels.
